FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Virtual Care Veterinarian is an online platform that provides veterinary services through virtual consultations. We offer pet owners the convenience of accessing expert veterinary experts from the comfort of their home. The services we can offer depends on the state you live in.  Every state has different regulation on a veterinary-client-patient-relationship (VCPR).  For every state we can offer telehealth advice for general advice and over the counter recommendations for your pets. We can also offer teletriage advice to determine if your pet needs to be urgently seen in person.  Currently, due to state law, we can only offer telemedicine with prescriptions for California pet parents.

Many questions and concerns by pet parents can be addressed by a virtual care veterinarian. Just a few of these include new puppy and kitten advice, post operative care, skin and ear care, parasite prevention, wellness advice and senior pet care. It's important to note that telehealth services are not suitable for emergency situations, severe symptoms, or conditions that require physical examination, lab tests, or imaging. In such cases, an in-person veterinary visit is essential.

Due to state laws, this is only available in California.  Additionally, it is only for specific types of medications not requiring lab work and are not a controlled substance. We can recommend over the counter medications if needed.

All you need is a device with a camera and microphone, such as a smartphone, tablet, or computer, and a stable internet connection. Our platform is user-friendly, and we provide guidance to ensure a smooth virtual experience.
